These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of HealthContentWorks.com (the "Site"). The Site is operated by David Lee Carpenter, Jr., doing business as Health Content Works, a sole proprietorship based in Nevada ("Health Content Works," "we," "us," or "our").
1. Accepting these Terms
By visiting or using the Site, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy (https://healthcontentworks.com/privacy-policy/). If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. You must be at least 18 years old, or have a parent's or guardian's permission, to use the Site.
2. Educational information only, not medical advice
Everything on the Site, including articles, checklists, downloads, and linked books, is general educational information. It is not medical advice, and it is not a diagnosis or treatment plan for you. It does not replace advice from your own physician, nurse practitioner, pharmacist, or other qualified healthcare professional.
Always talk with your own clinician before you start, stop, or change any medication, dose, diet, or exercise program. Do not ignore professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you read on the Site. Medical information changes, and an article may not reflect the newest research, drug labeling, or coverage rules. Please also read our Medical Disclaimer (https://healthcontentworks.com/medical-disclaimer/).
3. No nurse–patient or other professional relationship
David L. Carpenter is a registered nurse. Reading the Site, leaving a comment, or contacting us does not create a nurse–patient, clinician–patient, or any other professional healthcare relationship. We cannot give individual medical advice by comment, contact form, email, or social media.
4. Emergencies
The Site is not for emergencies. If you think you may have a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number right away. If you are thinking about suicide or self-harm, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline in the U.S.).
5. Our content and intellectual property
The Site and its content are owned by Health Content Works or used with permission and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. This includes text, articles, graphics, checklists, logos, layout, and downloads. The same applies to books and ebooks written by David L. Carpenter and published by or for Health Content Works. "Health Content Works" and its logo are our marks.
Product and drug names mentioned on the Site belong to their respective owners. Mentioning them does not mean those owners sponsor or endorse us.
6. How you may use our content
You may:
- read, print, or save Site pages for your own personal, noncommercial use;
- share a link to any page; and
- quote a short excerpt with clear credit ("Health Content Works") and a link back to the original page.
You may not, without our written permission:
- copy, republish, sell, or distribute our articles, books, or downloads, in whole or in large part;
- use our content to train, fine-tune, or feed artificial-intelligence systems, or scrape the Site with automated tools beyond ordinary search-engine indexing;
- remove copyright or attribution notices; or
- use the Site in a way that is unlawful, harms the Site or its visitors, or interferes with its operation (for example, by uploading malware or attempting unauthorized access).
7. Comments and other submissions
If you post a comment or send us a message, feedback, or other material ("Submissions"):
- Please do not share private health information about yourself or anyone else. Comments are public.
- You keep ownership of your Submission. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide permission to display, edit for length or clarity, and use it in connection with the Site and our work.
- You confirm that you have the right to share it, and that it is not unlawful, defamatory, harassing, misleading, spam, or someone else's copyrighted work.
- We may moderate, edit, decline, or remove any Submission at our discretion. We do not endorse opinions expressed in comments.
8. Affiliate links and advertising
Some pages contain affiliate links. If you buy something through one of those links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We take part in affiliate programs. Affiliate relationships do not change our editorial standards, and we do not include products just to earn a commission. Some topics, such as medication safety, recalls, and access to treatment, are kept free of affiliate links. See our Affiliate Disclosure (https://healthcontentworks.com/affiliate-disclosure/) and Editorial Standards (https://healthcontentworks.com/editorial-standards/) for details.
9. Third-party websites
The Site links to other websites, such as government agencies, medical journals, drug manufacturers, and retailers. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, products, privacy practices, or availability. Your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
We work to keep the Site accurate and current, but the Site and all content are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied. This includes warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Health Content Works and David Lee Carpenter, Jr. will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. This includes health outcomes, lost profits, or lost data arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its content, even if we were told such damages were possible. Our total liability for any claim related to the Site will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100). Some places do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
12. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Health Content Works and David Lee Carpenter, Jr. from claims, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, that arise from your Submissions, your misuse of the Site, or your violation of these Terms or anyone else's rights.
13. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to the Site or these Terms will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Clark County, Nevada, and you consent to those courts' jurisdiction.
14. Changes to these Terms or the Site
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms. We may also change, pause, or remove any part of the Site at any time.
15. Other terms
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a provision, that does not waive our right to enforce it later. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Medical Disclaimer, and Affiliate Disclosure, are the full agreement between you and us about the Site.
